The NASL veteran finished September with six goals and one assist as Miami FC continued its push for a title in the Fall Season to add to its silverware this season. The club was crowned Spring Season Champion earlier in the year.
Chávez had a hand in each Miami goal during the last month, and has been outstanding since the start of the Fall campaign. He has been directly involved with 13 of the club's last 16 goals - nine goals and four assists - since August 12.
In September, the native of Industry, Calif., scored a hat trick in a 3-3 draw against the New York Cosmos, which was sandwiched between a game-winner against Puerto Rico FC in a 1-0 win and a two-goal, one-assist performance in a 3-0 win against Jacksonville Armada FC.
With 10 goals, Chávez is currently third on the league's scoring chart. The 30-year-old forward's tally puts him three goals behind teammate Stéfano Pinho, who holds the league's top mark. He also has six assists this season.
He joined Miami back in December 2015 and has racked up 15 goals and eight assists in 47 league appearances for the club since then. The forward first made an impression in the NASL when he scored 16 league goals and added nine assists over two years (2014-15) with the Atlanta Silverbacks.
Miami hosts the San Francisco Deltas at Riccardo Silva Stadium on Saturday, October 7, and kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. The game can be seen live on ESPN3 (U.S.) and NASL.com (Canada).
