Afreximbank Guyana Roadshow 2025 to Take Place May 21

GEORGETOWN, Guyana - The Cairo-based African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) will host its two-day Afreximbank Guyana Roadshow 2025 from Wednesday marking the latest in a series of initiatives undertaken here since the bank partnered with Guyana in 2022.

afbanks“This event underscores our commitment to inclusive economic growth by unlocking opportunities for local content participation. It also provides a platform to demystify Afreximbank’s broader mandate as a pan-African institution driving transformational change,” a bank spokesperson said in a statement.

The event will be held under the theme “Empowering Local Content Participation for Sustainable Prosperity Through the Implementation of Afreximbank Mandate” and is being organise in partnership with the Guyana government.

The organisers said that they hope to attract approximately 150 representatives from government institutions, manufacturers, financial bodies, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and the oil and gas sector.

They said that since the collaboration with the government nearly three years ago, Afreximbank has successfully hosted the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum 2023, signed a US$100 million trade finance facility with JE Energy for crude oil exports and a landmark one billion US dollar commitment to promote local participation in the oil and gas industry.

Established in 1993, Afreximbank said its core mission is to stimulate and expand intra- and extra-African trade, with a growing footprint in the Caribbean. Its regional office based in Bridgetown, Barbados, is leading the Caribbean engagement and will be spearheading this year’s Guyana Roadshow.

The 2025 Roadshow will spotlight the Bank’s one billion US dollar oil service financing facility aimed at empowering Guyanese businesses, through showcasing its suite of financial and non-financial products.

Afreximbank said it has identified several strategic projects within Guyana that could serve as catalysts for intra-regional trade and economic advancement.
