Novel-T Releases New Album "Survivor" on August 17th
While releasing a series of hit singles in the past five years, Novel-T worked tirelessly to craft her second album which will finally be released on August 17 by P And N Publishing.
Survivor is the name of that album which has 11 songs, six of which topped the South Florida Reggae Chart. Born to Love You, the singer’s first album, came out in 2016.
Novel-T and her husband, musician Howard Perry Ricketts, are principals of P And N Publishing. They had a similar objective for Survivor.
“We wanted to do a series of singles that we would compile into an album, as well as some new songs. I wanted to work on getting my catalog out there and these songs have done that,” she said.
Keep it Moving, I Love The Way, Love Won’t Let Us Wait (with Peter G), Tough Like A Diamond, Two Makes One and So I Can Love You are the songs from Survivor that went number one.
Ricketts, a trumpeter, produced most of the songs along with Hopeton Lindo. Perry also played on several of the tracks.
One of the album’s new songs is Crazy Love, written and produced by Lindo. It features Grammy winners Sly and Robbie.
Saxophonist Dean Fraser, bassist Derrick Barnett, keyboardist Franklyn “Bubbler” Waul and The Heavybeat Crew also played on Survivor.
Novel-T is from August Town, a community in St. Andrew parish, Jamaica that has a strong roots-reggae/dancehall culture. She has been a recording artist since the 1990s.
