Saint Lucia, (PAHO) - Saint Lucia became the third country of the Caribbean to implement the HEARTS initiative to improve prevention and control of hypertension, one of the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases such as heart attacks and strokes, the principal causes of death in the Caribbean.

In support of the fight against breast cancer, JN Money will donate 50 cents from fees collected from all transactions sent online during the month of October to the Jamaica Cancer Society to aid in research for a breast cancer cure.

One in 350 men under the age of 50 will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, according to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. As men age, the chance that they’ll have prostate cancer increases. One in 52 men who are 50 to 59 years old will be diagnosed.

A case of dengue fever of local transmission has been confirmed in a Miami-Dade resident, making this one the fifth local case in 2019. These local cases do not appear to be related.
