Miami, FL –Today, U.S. Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (FL-26), member of the Congressional Coronavirus Task Force, released results of a week-long survey conducted by her office to gauge constituent experiences with the first round of Economic Impact Payments (EIPs), which provided a maximum payment of $1,200 per individual. After receiving hundreds of desperate phone calls to her office from South Floridians who had issues getting their checks, Mucarsel-Powell was compelled to measure overall public opinion.

Debbie Mucarsel-Powell (FL-26) sent a letter to Jacob Walden, Managing Partner of Emerald Health Care Center, expressing serious concerns with the Crystal Health & Rehab Center and demanding a plan for how the company intends to improve facility practices and conditions after reports of mismanagement. At least 18 residents and 8 staff members at the facility have tested positive for COVID-19 in the month of May, and a recent report from the Agency for Health Care Administration found 13 unreported deaths from the facility.
