Jamaica Fields Large Artistic Swimming Team to 2025 Worldwide Invitational

KINGSTON, Jamaica  – Jamaica’s largest-ever artistic swimming delegation is set to make waves at the prestigious 2025 WorldWide Invitational, taking place from May 2-4 at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex in Florida.

prestiswThe Jam United Team, featuring 27 athletes from four local clubs, will represent the island against elite competitors from the U.S. and over 10 other nations.

Led by Island Aquatics Swim Club head coach Robyn Chin Sang, the squad, comprising swimmers aged 7 to 18, will compete in novice, intermediate, and youth divisions, showcasing Jamaica’s rising talent in the highly technical sport.

“Our athletes have trained tirelessly, and we’re confident they’ll deliver performances that reflect their dedication.

This is our largest team yet, proof of the sport’s growth in Jamaica. With intensified training over the past six weeks, we’re ready to make an impact.”

Jamaica has steadily gained recognition at the invitational for innovative routines and competitive spirit. This year, athletes will tackle more advanced categories, signaling their ambition.

“Many of our swimmers are pushing into higher technical levels. With the right support, the Olympics are within reach.”

The coaching staff includes national head coach Olga Novokshchenova, alongside Wendy Lee (Tornadoes Swim Club), Yoaris Araujo (Montego Bay Dolphins Aquatics), Ajoni Llewellyn and Ketana Blount (Island Aquatics).

Carolene Brown Thomas, newly appointed VP for Artistic Swimming at the Aquatic Sports Association of Jamaica (ASAJ), emphasized the sport’s potential.

“This team’s hard work highlights artistic swimming’s rise in Jamaica. We see tremendous growth ahead, given our athletes’ natural talent.”

Formerly known as synchronized swimming, the sport has surged in popularity locally, blending swimming, dance, and gymnastics into a mesmerizing display of athleticism.
