“No Rush” Makes History as the First Vessel to Arrive in Saint Lucia for 2024 ARC
RODNEY BAY, St. Lucia – “No Rush”, with its 13-member crew, made history as the first vessel to arrive in Saint Lucia, completing the grueling 2,700-nautical-mile journey of the 2024 Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) here Friday.
The sleek 105-foot yacht was among over 100 vessels that departed Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Sunday, November 24, 2024. After 12 days, 5 hours, and 8 minutes at sea, “No Rush” crossed the finish line, marking a triumphant moment for skipper Diogo Cayolla and his team of professional sailors.
A vibrant welcome ceremony at IGY Rodney Bay Marina celebrated their achievement, hosted by the event organizers, the World Cruising Club (WCC), and attended by Saint Lucian tourism officials.
“Leaps & Bounds 2” crossed the finish line in second place.
This year’s ARC marks its 39th edition and boasts a record-breaking lineup, including 45 multihulls, 11 IRC racing yachts, and 83 cruising vessels. Over the next week, the remaining participants are expected to arrive at the Rodney Bay Marina.
