No other nation or territory in CARIFTA history has ever achieved more than four straight victories.
The Bahamian team dominated both the points standings and the medal count, finishing with an impressive 979 points, well ahead of second-place Jamaica, 795.50 and host country Trinidad and Tobago, 735.
On the medal front, the Bahamas amassed a staggering 74 podium finishes, 27 gold, 23 silver, and 24 bronze, while Trinidad and Tobago trailed in second with 23 golds.
Head Coach Travano McPhee praised his team’s resilience and dedication. “I’m very proud to be a part of this. This team is outstanding. Swimming in the Bahamas has come a long way, and we’re already talking about an eighth straight title. These swimmers had everything in place to succeed, and they delivered.”
Reflecting on the grueling four-day competition, McPhee added that the swimmers went above and beyond to secure the victory. “These kids endured tough training, late nights, early mornings, but they came here and performed. I couldn’t be prouder.”
The Bahamas seized control from the opening day and never looked back, steadily widening its lead before closing out the meet with a dominant final night, earning 18 more medals, 6 gold, 7 silver, and 5 bronze.
