Bob Marley’s “One Love” Wins Grammy Award

LOS ANGELES – “Bob Marley: One Love – Music Inspired by the Film” won the 2025 Grammy Awards for “Best Reggae Album” during the 67th Grammy Awards here on Sunday night.

According to Dancehallmag, “Bob Marley: One Love” sound track was released in February last year by Tuff Gong and Island Records.

It said “the 10-track album featured fresh interpretations of Marley’s iconic songs, performed by artists like Daniel Caesar, Kacey Musgraves, Wizkid, Leon Bridges, Shenseea, Farruko, Jessie Reyez, Mystic Marley, Bloody Civilian and Skip Marley.”

Dancehallmag said the soundtrack album attained the No. 10 spot on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.

“The One Love film, directed (by) Reinaldo Marcus Green, starred Ben Kingsley-Adir as Marley, Lashana Lynch as his wife Rita Marley and James Norton as Chris Blackwell”, Dancehallmag said.

It said the Grammy Award for “Best Reggae Album”, “which recognizes excellence in albums of reggae music, including roots reggae, dancehall and ska music, had 75 entries late last year, up from 65 in 2024.”

During the 2025 Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah, Beyoncé won “Album of the Year” for “Cowboy Carter”.

Kendrick Lamar also won “Song of the Year” for “Not Like Us”.

Organizers said Sunday night’s Grammys raised funds to support music professionals and Los Angeles wildfire relief initiatives.
