Cham Drops Fourth Studio Album Sherlock
NEW YORK, NY – Grammy-nominated Jamaican superstar Baby Cham, also known as Cham, has dropped his long-awaited fourth studio album, Sherlock, via the artist's own Lawless Army Music imprint. Out today on all digital platforms, the project features eight hard-hitting tracks, including the gritty street anthem "Hustling In My Blood," with multiple Grammy award-winning reggae royalty, Stephen Marley and Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley. The instant classic lead single has already racked up 250,000 views on YouTube for the official video since it premiered two weeks ago.
Sherlock was co-produced by Cham, alongside several world-renowned producers like The FaNaTiX, CopperShaun, and DJ Karim. From the tough-as-nails title track intro to the final vocals of the melodically wistful "Starlight," Baby Cham takes the audience on a journey through the life and times of a true dancehall hero. On "Maddest Life," Cham shares a glimpse of the wild world he's created for himself by living with no fear. In proper dancehall fashion, "Miss Seductress" serves as an instruction manual for that one hot gyal who has earned his attention. "Lamborghini Boy," which quickly landed on key Apple Music playlists upon the album's release, finds Cham flexing his international baller status. Cham begs the question "What's Poppin" in the club-ready sixth album track that demands crowd participation on the chorus's "Ho! Hey!" call and response section. As an experienced connoisseur of beautiful women, Cham inducts a special someone into the "Hall of Fame" on Sherlock's seventh track.
The songs weave together the colorful tapestry of a musical icon who has risen from humble beginnings to become one of the most successful artists to ever emerge from Jamaica. Cham's story is further accentuated by Sherlock's stunning cover art, which features his image superimposed over a bird's-eye view of the Sherlock Crescent neighborhood that raised him.
"The cover is inspired by the community I grew up in for most of my life - Duhaney Park, Kingston 20." Cham explained in a recent social media post that revealed the album artwork. "Some call it 'The Ghetto,' some call it 'Inner City,' but I call it 'Home.' I wanted people to see the streets that made Baby Cham, the avenues I walked as a child. I wanted to let the youth know I walked the same roads as them, but didn't succumbed to them. They can make it also."
In support of the new album release, Cham will be hitting the road for a string of North American tour dates, as well as performing on the Marley's annual Welcome To Jamrock Cruise. In addition to his summer tour dates, Cham will be making a few surprise appearances on the Traffic Jam Tour with Stephen and Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley. See below for more information.
