Sone G's New Song 'Rescue Me' is Straight From the Heart

During a testing period, Sone G was inspired to write a song that hit home in a big way. The singer says that song, Rescue Me, comes straight from the heart.

“I wrote this song one day before one of my most challenging days as a father. It’s relevant to know that in life there is a higher power looking out for your best interest,” he said.

Released in July, Rescue Me is produced by Heavy Unit Productions. It hears Sone G thanking that higher power for providing solace at a time when he and his family needed it.

Rescue Me is his second song for 2025, following Bexx And Buss which came out in February.

Like the latter, Rescue Me is driven by a One Drop, drum-and-bass beat.

According to Sone G, the message is the most important aspect of his songs.

“I wrote this song for persons who find a way to give thanks and praise to God, even in troubling times,” he said.

A committed Christian, Sone G has never let his faith stop him from experimenting with so-called secular sounds. Growing up in the rural fishing community of Rocky Point, Clarendon parish, he was privy to some of the hippest dancehall sounds.

In the last five years, Sone G has collaborated with likeminded producers such as DaJourney and Craig McDonald.
