Wildfire Records Plans to Maintain Its Hectic Release Schedule in 2026
Wildfire Records plans to maintain its hectic release schedule in 2026 with more compilation albums, as well as a long-awaited set from talented singer-songwriter Doniki who died in 2016.
Earl Messam, founder and head of the Philadelphia-based company, said the compilation is scheduled for release early in the year. The Doniki album is tentatively earmarked to come out in late 2026.
The producer did not go into details about either project, but said he recorded multiple songs with Doniki, who was from Trench Town, the KIngston community famous for producing artists such as The Wailers, Alton Ellis and Delroy Wilson.
In 2025, Wildfire Records dropped three compilation albums. The third, All Star Album, is a 22-song collection that hit the market in November.
It features acts such as Anaconda, Glen Ricks and Shan Bam. It was released five months after Champion Album and Ready fi di World Vol 3, which showcased songs by Ricks, Doniki, Roland Burrell and Ian Sweetness.
Messam is from Clarendon, a parish in central Jamaica that, like Trench Town, has a storied music legacy. It has produced acts such as Burrell, Toots Hibbert, Millie Small, Freddie McGregor and Denroy Morgan, patriarch of Morgan Heritage.
Messam got involved in the music business in Jamaica during the 1980s. He continued to produce artistes after moving to Philadelphia late that decade, and has worked in recent times with Burrell, best known for the hit songs, Stormy Night and Johnny Dollar.
