UN Urged Regional Countries to Help Stop Trafficking in Persons (TIP)

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Caribbean countries are observing World Day against Trafficking in Persons (TIP) on Friday even as the United Nations Secretary General, António Guterres, warns that in the midst of a global pandemic, accompanied by rising inequalities and economic devastation, the voices of human trafficking survivors and victims risk being drowned out.

GEORGETOWN, Guyana –Grenada’s Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell Tuesday said that it is imperative for the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries to collect the data that will allow them to assess the magnitude of the impact of climate change as well as the coronavirus (COVID019) pandemic and other occurrences, so as “to better plan for our future, to adjust to this new normal”.
