arajetplIn the first 24 hours, 1,169 tickets were sold through www.arajet.com for flights between Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) in Santo Domingo and Liberty International Airport (EWR) in Newark, United States.

“The response to our New York route has exceeded all expectations,” said Víctor Pacheco, CEO, and founder of Arajet. “We knew this was the most expected route, but the demand has been ten times greater than our Miami and San Juan routes. We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support from our customers.”

The official route launch took place on Monday at Gregorio Luperón High School in Washington Heights, Manhattan, attended by Congressman Adriano Espaillat and Dominican consuls Jesús Vásquez and José Santana, representing New York and New Jersey, respectively.

Enhanced Connectivity, Affordable Fares, and World-Class Service

Pacheco emphasized that this new Santo Domingo–New York connection will increase market competitiveness, offering more travel opportunities, lower fares, and world-class service.

The route will begin operations on June 16, 2025, with four weekly flights.  Due to renovation work at Newark Airport, flights will be temporarily paused for six weeks between September and October. From November onward, Arajet plans to operate daily flights on this route.

With this expansion, Arajet reaffirms its commitment to strengthening connectivity between the Dominican Republic and its diaspora, making direct, affordable flights more accessible to Dominicans.
