NYC Launches First In-Person Caribbean Carnival in Two Years

NEW YORK, New York – With a spectacular display of masqueraders and stilt dancers, the rhythmic sounds of steel pan and soca music, and speeches from elected officials, including New York Mayor Eric Adams, the Brooklyn, New York-based West Indian American Day Carnival Association (WIADCA) has launched its first in-person New York’s Caribbean Carnival after two years in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr Easy Hits the Barclays Center for "Angela Yee Day"

New York, New York - The legendary Mr Easy is slated to perform at Brooklyn's Barclays Center for "Angela Yee Day" on Saturday, August 27! The highly anticipated appearance by the international Reggae and Dancehall act follows a groundbreaking performance at Reggae Sumfest with the "Magnificent Seven" during the iconic musical "Mad House" tribute to mega producer Dave Kelly.

UNESCO Transcultura Program, Showcasing Caribbean Hip-Hop Beats, to be Held in Berlin

PARIS, France – The United Nations Educational, Social and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) says its program, Transcultura: Integrating Cuba, the Caribbean and the European Union through culture and creativity, funded by the European Union, has joined forces with the Goethe Institute and the Centre for InterAmerican Studies of Bielefeld University in Germany to showcase “The Caribbean hip-hop beat in Europe.” 

Kabaka Pyramid Release New Single Grateful

New York, New York - On the heels of the release of his single “Red, Gold and Green” featuring Damian Marley, Kabaka Pyramid is set to release another single “Grateful”. The smashing reggae, hip hop fused track features young sensation Jemere Morgan, who is also son of Grammy award reggae artist Gramps Morgan; showcases the eclectic musical ability Kabaka encompasses.

DanceAfrica Miami Presents "Rise Above" August 5-7, 2022

Miami, Fl - DelouAfrica is a non-profit organization that provides the most authentic African dance and musical performances in South Florida. This year marks 35 years of the organization displaying and teaching local African dance and drum. DelouAfrica continues to enrich and empower the community through their annual DanceAfrica Miami showcase, which kicks off on August 5 through August 7 at the Lou Rawls Center for the Performing Arts at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens. The annual program continues to be a feather in South Florida's cultural diversity cap. The festival's theme is Rise Above. This exceptionally high-spirited, three-day family-friendly, multi-cultural arts and educational event is made possible with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor, and Board of County Commissioners, the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and culture and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture and the Knight Foundation. Hezron Clarke to Release New Album

Montego Bay, Jamaica raised vocalist, songwriter and producer Hezron Clarke will be releasing his album, M.O.A.M. (Man on a Mission), on August 19 via Tad’s Record (Ernie Ranglin, Tanya Stephens).
