“Pieces of Jamaica” Exhibition Set to Launch at Island SPACE Caribbean Museum

Plantation, Fla. - In honor of Jamaica’s 60th anniversary of independence, artists David I. Muir and Sean Henry have collaborated to produce the new Pieces of Jamaica®. This project and exhibit coming to Island SPACE Caribbean Museum showcases Jamaica through an expansive lens that captures overlooked cultural aspects of the island. With a series of events planned, The Pieces of Jamaica® exhibition opens on June 4th with an opportunity to meet the artists from 4-7 PM. On June 23rd, Island SPACE Caribbean Museum will host a Pieces of Jamaica® reception where friends of the museum, distinguished guests, and art lovers alike can mingle and enjoy the showcase over wine and light refreshments. The exhibition’s events culminate on August 18th, providing visitors with the opportunity to purchase the coffee-table book and interact with project sponsors the Jamaica Tourist Board and Sagicor, as well as local Jamaican dignitaries.

Anancy Festival Returns to South Florida at Island SPACE Caribbean Museum

Plantation, Florida - Families across South Florida are invited to enjoy a day filled with Caribbean cultural activities as the annual Anancy Festival returns. On Saturday, June 25, 2022, in celebration of Caribbean-American Heritage Month, Island SPACE Caribbean Museum at the Broward Mall, in association with the Caribbean Edge Kids and Jamaicans.com, will host festivities from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Then, as part of Broward Mall’s Colors of Caribe community festival, Island SPACE will join the fun inside the mall, where a variety of other vibrant, Caribbean-themed activities will take place until 5:00pm.

Atlanta Caribbean Carnival Attracted Major Crowds for 2022

Atlanta, GA – This past Memorial Day Weekend all eyes were on the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival. The metropolitan city center of Georgia’s state capital was filled with the rhythms of Caribbean music, the scents of island cuisine and the undeniable energy of an enthusiastic audience who came out after a two year cultural withdrawal.

The 2022 edition of Atlanta Caribbean Carnival marked the return of ATL’s beloved large mas bands to the downtown experience.

Black Am I Seeks to Uplift the Struggle of Work Life With Latest Single "Work Day"

New York, New York - Bull Bay’s very own velvet voiced reggae crooner Black Am I releases a new anthem for the working class titled "Work Day". This new track which is released through the Ghetto Youth’s International label is produced by the legendary Damian Marley himself and features an upbeat reggae/ska rhythm that carries the message perfectly. The message is clear, there is beauty in the struggle of sweat and the toil that takes care of our responsibilities. Black Am I’s serene but resounding vocals give new meaning and hope to what would otherwise seem like a repetitive mundane work life. This latest single is supplemented by the official video set to release on the same day.

Playing June 22-July 9 in the Arsht Center’s intimate Carnival Studio Theater, BOB MARLEY’S THREE LITTLE BIRDS features a live reggae band playing onstage andmakes for an entertaining summer theater event for the whole family.
