In a culturally rich launch event, The Louise Bennett-Coverley Heritage Council unveiled its plans for the celebration of the 100th birthday of Jamaica’s cultural icon, Rt. Hon. Dr. Louise Bennett-Coverley, “Miss Lou”. The Council hosted civic and faith-based organizations, as well as media and community influencers at the Sunrise Soccer Park Recreation Hall, in Sunrise, Florida on Tuesday, July 2.

The City of Miramar successfully hosted the World's Largest Swimming Lesson on June 20th at the Miramar Aquatic Complex and the Miramar Regional Park Aquatic Complex. Combined, over 71 children participated at both locations. The event was a fun way to make the community aware of the importance of swim lessons and the existence of our Aquatic Facilities.
