'2 Pretty' is Deportee's Latest Song, Released in November
An experienced clubber, American toaster Deportee has heard just about every pick-up line there is. On 2 Pretty, his latest song, he looks at what may be the most used phrase to get a lady’s attention.
DeporteeReleased in late November, the song is produced by Vikwyn, a leading player in Nigerian music.
“I think every man has experienced going out and finding one girl in particular that catches his eye. That’s the girl that his conscience bothers him to go talk to, and then when he finally approaches her, he might say something like, ‘you’re the prettiest girl on the dance floor’,” said Deportee.
The Detroit-based deejay/rapper co-wrote 2 Pretty with J Rich, Roy Haynes and Ray The Producer, who are also involved in the Motor City’s hip music scene. While it is written from a man’s perspective, Deporteee believes many women can identify with the song.
“This song is for the girls. I want women to lead the way and I want men to love the song because of their love for women and the way they react to it,” he said.
2 Pretty closed a busy 2025 for Deportee (real name Martin Curran), who is the son of Sylvia Reed Curran, a respected member of the United States Foreign Service who served in several countries including Canada, Mexico and Russia.
Bad Mamma Jamma and Pressure Point were other songs he released in 2025. Along with Jamaican deejay Ricky Ten, Deportee operates the Akbar Record Label.
