Errol Wizdom's Third Album 'Reggae Dancehall' Is Scheduled For Release This Year
As leader of the Errol Wizdom World Beat Reggae Band, Errol Wizdom has played to eclectic audiences on the United States East Coast for many years. However, nothing gets the Jamaican musician’s blood pumping more than hardcore reggae rhythms.
Errol WizdomThat is what the singer/guitarist offers on Reggae Dancehall, his third album, which is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2026. Wizdom, a longtime resident of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, never forgot the music he was raised on in Jamaica.
“No matter what, I have to stick to my roots. I can't change, Jamaica is my roots and the music as well,” he said.
Wizdom gave fans a sample of things to come in 2025 by releasing three songs — the title track, Cherry of My Life and Jamming on The Mountain. They were recorded in Kingston, the Jamaican capital, with his sons, George Williams and Ian Williams, who played bass and keyboards, respectively.
Keyboardist Delroy Clarke, a Jamaican based in Pittsburgh who has collaborated with Wizdom on several projects, and American soul singer Anni Mai, also contributed to Reggae Dancehall.
Wizdom was raised in Trench Town, the famous Kingston community that produced acts like The Wailers, Alton Ellis and Delroy Wilson. His recording career started in the 1970s as a teenager with The Potentials, a harmony trio.
In 1992, shortly after moving to Pittsburgh, Wizdom and American Greg Hampton formed the Wizdom World Beat Reggae Band. While reggae is its core sound, the band also plays renditions of classic rock songs by The Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
