As we plan for the 2021 Miami Carnival season, please know that the Miami Broward Carnival Host Committee, which produces the official Miami Carnival on Columbus Day weekend in Miami, is committed to our patrons' safety masqueraders, vendors, and the community at large. With that said, we want to inform you that we will incorporate and go beyond the CDC's minimum requirements.

The Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange encouraged all 13 Parish Queens of the 2021 Miss Jamaica Festival Queen Competition to put their best foot forward when stepping on the World Stage at the competition’s virtual Grand Coronation on Emancipation Day, Sunday August 1.

Lauderdale Lakes, FL - Fresh from a sold-out opening night in Palm Beach on July 10^th, the Jamaican Bad Boys of Comedy tour, featuring Oliver Samuels, Drew Thomas and Chris “Johnny” Daley made their second stop at The Garden in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida on Sunday night, (July 18) to a standing room only crowd. Due to unforeseen circumstances, host Oliver Samuels was absent, but comedian Raul Blaze, who is fast becoming a sensation on social media, filled in as host and opened the show by introducing himself and taking a rollcall of Jamaican parishes to see which ones were represented.

The Gambia, West Africa, . Ahead of the highly anticipated On A High album to be dropped by reggae international star Sizzla Kalonji, comes visuals from his “Crown On Your Head” single. Directed by G-Mac and filmed in various parts of Kingston, a jubilant Sizzla takes to the streets to inspire his people. Close up shots blending into each other shedding light on the lifeline of Jamaica, the people. The overarching message, believing and uplifting yourself, is presented in a deliberate fashion. Pointing to a portrait of what it really means to stay Solid As Rock in these ever trying times.

Dancehall and Reggae artiste Stacious is the 2021 Jamaica Festival Song winner. The Singjay won the title along with a trophy and $3 million dollars cash at the Festival Song Grand Final at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston on Thursday. Entry songs from the competition’s top 12 finalists covered a range of Jamaican music genres, including Mento, Ska, and Reggae/Culture.

The top 12 finalists of the 2021 Jamaica Festival Song Competition will go head to head in front of the nationon TVJ, this Thursday, July 15at the competition’s virtual Presentation Show, beginning at 8:30 p.m. The finalist will try to out-sing and out-perform each other with their vibrant and patriotic Festival Songs, as they vie for public votes on their mission to becoming Jamaica’s next Festival Song Winner.

The 2021 Jamaica Gospel Star Competition television series will see its televised Grand Final this Emancipation Day, Sunday, August 1 on CVM TV and online at the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s (JCDC) website –www.jcdc.gov.jm ,and on its Facebook - Jamaica Cultural Development Commission and Youtube - JCDC Jamaica1 pages, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
