World-Ranked Poet to Host Free Lunch-time Monthly Event at Pompano Beach Cultural Center

You could be a poet!  If you are intrigued by the storied art form of poetry and want to learn more about expressing yourself, then sign up for the free Lunch with Art-- Poetry Edition at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center. These monthly lunchtime gatherings are hosted by Sharonda “Eccentrich” Richardson, the #14 ranked female poet in the world! Expanding upon the success of the Lunch with Art visual programs at Bailey Contemporary Arts, the Pompano Beach Cultural Division is now offering this exciting new poetry version on the first Thursday of each month from 12:15-1:15 pm. 2019 Festival Song Finalists Confirmed

A large and enthusiastic crowd turned out at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre on Saturday, April 27, for the semi-finals of the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s Festival Song Competition 2019.

Miami Music Project To Received $30,000 From The National Endownment For The Arts

MIAMI, FL — National Endowment for the Arts Acting Chairman Mary Anne Carter has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the Arts Endowment’s second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2019! Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $30,000 to Miami Music Project to support staff salaries and teaching artist fees for the Children's Orchestras, a free after-school instrumental music program for students in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Art Works is the Arts Endowment’s principal grantmaking program. The agency received 1,592 Art Works applications for this round of grantmaking, and will award 977 grants in this category.

2019 Deaf Dance Festival to Showcase Deaf Dancers, Choreographers and Costume Designers on April 30

The highly anticipated and critically acclaimed annual Deaf Dance Festival will be held at the Little Theatre in Kingston on Tuesday, April 30, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Organized by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), an agency of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport and the Jamaica Association for the Deaf, Deaf Dance 2019 will showcase inspiring dance performances from the deaf community, as performers compete to take home a national title.
