Mom and Pop Small Business Grants Available for District 10

MIAMI-DADE – Small business owners in District 10 are invited to apply for Miami-Dade County Commissioner Javier D. Souto’s annual Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. City of Miramar Vice Mayor Appointed to Leadership Position on NLC Committee

City of Miramar, Florida —Yvette Colbourne, Vice Mayor, City of Miramar, Fl, has been appointed Vice Chair of the National League of Cities (NLC) 2021 Finance, Administration & Intergovernmental Relations (FAIR) Federal Advocacy Committee. Vice Mayor Colbourne was elected to a one-year term and will provide strategic direction and guidance for NLC’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities. The appointment was announced by NLC President Mayor Vince Williams of Union City, Georgia. 

North Miami Beach CRA to Host ‘NMB Bites’ to Celebrate Black History Month

North Miami Beach, Fla.  – The City of North Miami Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (NMB CRA) will be hosting its NMB Bites on February 5, in honor and celebration of Black History Month. NMB Bites is a signature event series designed to celebrate North Miami Beach’s (NMB) culturally diverse cuisine and community.  

Brightline Commemorates Black History Month With in-Station Art Exhibit

MIAMI, FL – Brightline, the only provider of modern, eco-friendly, intercity rail in America, has partnered with The Black Archives History and Research Foundation of South Florida for Black History Month to host an art installation featuring original works by Purvis Young, a renowned artist who was born in Liberty City and lived and painted in historic Overtown. Brightline’s headquarters and MiamiCentral station are also located in Overtown, and the collaboration underscores its commitment to support and positively impact local communities throughout South Florida.

African American Research Library and Cultural Center Celebrates 20 Year Anniversary on Feb. 11

Fort Lauderdale, FL - Broward County Library'sAfrican American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC) marks its 20th anniversary with a rededication celebration and the opening of a new exhibit, Collectors' Duet: The Lifelong Librarianship of Vivian D. Celebrating the Union of Nicolas and Kristin Webley

On Saturday December 18th of the year Two Thousand and Twenty One, Nicolas Charles Webley and Kristin Evonne Spoto united under God. Taking place at Riverhills Country Club in Valrico (FL), and witnessed by their closest friends and family, they merrily shared their vows to each other. Much like the reception to come, the ceremony was filled with tears of joy, heartfelt exchanges, and many memorable moments.
