The last living Wailer is no more. Minutes after news broke on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 of the passing of the legendary Bunny Wailer, born Neville O'Riley Livingston, the tributes began pouring in.

Washington DC – As students worldwide continue to navigate the online learning environment occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic, some 300 students from various Jamaican schools, are to benefit from a donation of laptops and tablets valued at $JA11-million courtesy of the Union of Jamaican Alumni Associations (UJAA) out of New York.

The Union of Jamaican Alumni Associations (UJAA) out of New York have sent yet another shipment of lap-top and tablet devices to their schools in Jamaica, valued at J$3-million, to complement the J$ 11-million worth of equipment sent last week, putting the total donation so far to J$-14 million.

MIAMI  —Today, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava announced new relief to support residential landlords and tenants impacted by the pandemic. During a press conference with Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins, business owners including United Property Management, and tenants and landlords’ rights groups including Miami Homes for All and Haitian Neighborhood Association, the Mayor proposed a program to distribute $60 million in new federal relief dollars to struggling landlords and tenants – beginning with landlords who have writs of eviction filed and tenants facing eviction.

Over 250 entries were received via the competition website, social media platforms, and through drop-off boxes. MIAMI-DADE – Today (Dec. 23), Jamaican root, Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins proudly hosted her first meal distribution event, in partnership with the Miami Dolphins Foundation Food Relief Program. Commissioner Cohen Higgins was joined by Senior Vice President of the Miami Dolphins Nat Moore, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Consul General from Jamaica R. Oliver Mair, Miami Dolphins Alumnus Shawn Wooden, Miami-Dade School Board Member Luisa Santos, several members of the Cutler Bay Town Council, volunteers from the Neighbors and Neighbors Association (N.A.N.A.), and Mothers Fighting for Justice, and other local leaders. The drive-through meal distribution provided 500 meals to hundreds of families in need.
