New Partnership Brings Flexible UK Medical Degrees to Caribbean Healthcare
LONDON, UK – Health professionals across the Caribbean are set to benefit from expanded access to internationally recognized UK postgraduate medical education through a new partnership between UK-based online medical education provider Learna and the Caribbean-focused education platform UpCaria.
The partnership will provide doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, healthcare administrators and other medical professionals across the Caribbean with flexible online access to Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and Master’s degree programmes while allowing them to continue serving their communities.
The initiative comes as Caribbean healthcare systems continue to prioritize workforce development, specialist training and healthcare capacity building.
Learna delivers fully online postgraduate healthcare programmes validated by UK university partners including the University of South Wales and the University of Buckingham. Several programmes also carry professional recognition linked to the Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians.
Under the collaboration, UpCaria will lead regional outreach, student engagement and stakeholder partnerships throughout the Caribbean.
James Heath, Commercial and Partnerships Director at Learna, said the partnership aligns with the organization’s mission to widen access to quality postgraduate medical education globally.
“Healthcare professionals across the Caribbean need flexible, high-quality postgraduate opportunities that fit around real-world clinical practice,” Heath said.
Neville Madden of UpCaria said the initiative addresses growing regional demand for internationally respected education pathways that do not require healthcare workers to leave their jobs or families behind.
“Flexible online postgraduate study creates a practical pathway for Caribbean healthcare professionals to advance their careers while continuing to serve their communities,” Madden said.
A regional virtual media launch is scheduled for June 9, where the partnership and programme offerings will be formally introduced to healthcare stakeholders, institutions and the wider Caribbean public.
The launch will also include engagement opportunities for hospitals, ministries of health, healthcare employers and professional associations across the region.
