SANTO DOMINGO , Dominican Republic – United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio is set to meet with Dominican President Luis Abinader here on Thursday where they will discuss key bilateral and regional issues.
A major topic on the agenda is the continuation of the multinational security mission in Haiti. Rubio will then participate in a working lunch with his delegation at the Green Room inside the National Palace.
His visit to the Dominican Republic marks the final stop on his international tour, which included Panama, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and El Salvador.
In El Salvador, Rubio reached an agreement with President Nayib Bukele to transfer some of the country’s most dangerous prisoners.
