Caribbean Stars Shine Bright in CONCACAF W Qualifiers’ Best XI

MIAMI, FL – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers have concluded, with Costa Rica, El Salvador, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, and Panama booking their tickets to the upcoming Concacaf W Championship.

bestqqWhile the region celebrated six qualified nations, it was the Caribbean’s finest who claimed some of the most eye-catching spots in the official Qualifiers Best XI.

Leading the charge for the English-speaking Caribbean is Jamaica’s captain, Khadija Shaw. The Reggae Girlz leader was in devastating form, finding the net nine times, adding an assist, and completing 91 passes.

Shaw’s clinical finishing was a nightmare for opposing defences and a major reason Jamaica punched their ticket to the Championship.

But no Caribbean player shone brighter than Haiti’s Melchie Dumornay. The reigning back-to-back Concacaf Women’s Player of the Year was simply unplayable, leading the Grenadières to another W Championship appearance.

Dumornay recorded a spectacular haul of three goals, four assists, and 114 completed passes, cementing her status as the region’s most dynamic midfielder.

Other Caribbean contributors also earned recognition. Arden La-Rose of Guyana put on a goalkeeping masterclass despite her side not qualifying.

Facing constant pressure, La-Rose amassed 19 saves while conceding only two goals across three matches.

From the wider Caribbean basin, Puerto Rico’s Jill Aguilera delivered a nine-goal explosion, along with 152 passes and four tackles, as Las Boricuas made their mark.

While Mexico’s Charlyn Corral (13 goals, three assists) and Priscilla Chinchilla of Costa Rica (12 goals, one assist) led all scorers.
