Reggae Films in the Park, a signature event series on the Reggae Month 2020 calendar, will be showcasing a free film-screening of the Jamaican music documentary Inna De Yard, the Soul of Jamaica, at the Emancipation Park in Kingston, this Friday, February 21, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Over 30 years after the Montgomery Bus Boycott launched, civil rights activist and death row attorney Bryan Stevenson came to Alabama’s capital city to spark a new, quieter movement against the death penalty. That was in 1989. Working through his Equal Justice Initiative, which now includes a team of 40 attorneys, Stevenson has since overturned over 135 death sentence convictions in Alabama.

The Jamaica Gospel Song Competition, will kick off its 2020 cycle with a series of four regional auditions,aimed at unearthing upcoming Gospel artistes from all 13 parishes across the island.

The Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) will jump-start the 2020 National Festival of the Performing Arts with a series of extensive and insightful workshops across the island slated for November and December 2019. OCHO RIOS, JAMAICA – The 27th staging of Rebel Salute is being hailed as a resounding success. Approximately 20,000 local and international fans attended the two-day festival, billed as The People’s Show, at Grizzlys Plantation Cove in Ocho Rios. The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) was among the sponsors of the festival which for nearly three decades has made a significant contribution towards the preservation of reggae music.
