Nationally Acclaimed Comedian Rickey Smiley Hosts Pompano Stand Up Live!

The Pompano Beach Cultural Center is proud to announce comedy legend Rickey Smiley will host Pompano Stand Up Live!  The top-rated national radio personality will introduce an outstanding lineup of comedians including Christopher Priester, Pam Bruno, Komedian Kermit and Chea Butter. 2019 Festival Song Road Tour Rolls into St. Elizabeth, St. Catherine this Weekend

The 2019 Jamaica Festival Song finalists will roll into the southern parishes of St. Elizabeth and St. Catherine this weekend, as they continuetheir month-long, island-wide, free, performance road tour, aimed at bringing the impending Independence spirit to the masses. All 11 finalists will have audiences singing and waving along to the patriotic Festival Songs at the Santa Plaza in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabethon Friday, June 28, and at Munimar Square, Spanish Town onSaturday, June 29, with both events beginning at 7:00 PM.

Sunshine State Set to Welcome Ashe in Concert

Jamaica’s Consul General to the Southern USA, R. Oliver Mair will be patron of the summer artistic showcase featuring the Ashe Company, the dynamic Jamaica-based theatre arts and social development enterprise.  The one night only performance titled “Boonoonoonoos” will be staged on Saturday, July 20, at the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Miami. Showtime is at 7:00 pm., and tickets are now available at EVENTBRITE.

Ivy Queen the “Queen of Reggaeton” to Appear at Wynwood Pride

New Short Film Imagines an America Where Roe V. Wade is Overturned

LOS ANGELES – With states recently passing abortion bans, the new short film “It Happened One Night” gives a realistic depiction of what the future of America will be if state legislators continue to follow suit.  The short, showcased at the Global Women in Film Corner at Cannes Film Festival, examines an America that has overthrown Roe v. Wade and has turned a blind eye to sexual assault victims.   

Art and History Exhibition Celebrating National Caribbean-American Heritage Month Arrives in Fort Lauderdale June 1- 29

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.  – Celebrate Caribbean-American Heritage Month with “The Island Imprint: A History of the Caribbean Community in Broward County,” a fine art and historical retrospective produced in conjunction with Island Syndicate, on display June 1 – 29 at History Fort Lauderdale. A special opening reception to be attended by Caribbean consulate representatives and city and county officials will be held on Wednesday, June 5, at 5:30 p.m., in The New River Inn (231 SW Second Avenue).
