GEORGETOWN, Guyana, — On the same day the total number of COVID-19 cases passed the 10,000-mark, President Irfaan Ali announced that 224,000 doses of two vaccines from Russia and the global vaccine initiative, COVAX, will arrive here next week.

KINGSTON, Jamaica,  – Government will be acquiring a genome sequencer that will be used to test samples to determine variants of viruses in Jamaica, Prime Minister Andrew Holness said Thursday.

It was a smooth start to the vaccination process in southern Jamaica as 192 health care workers from the parishes of Clarendon, St. Elizabeth and Manchester received the COVID-19 vaccine on the first day, March 10.

Miami-Dade's first federal vaccination site at Miami Dade College North Campus is now open and accepting on-site walk-in registration. This site, located at 11380 NW 27th Ave, Miami, FL 33167, will operate 7 days per week, from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

WASHINGTON, – Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Director Dr. Carissa Etienne said Tuesday that by early next month, all Caribbean countries will have received their first shipment of COVID-19 vaccines under the COVAX Facility.
