21 Years and Counting The Haitian Compas Festival Continues its Reign

Miami, Florida –Recognized as one of the largest outdoor festivals in the United States, the Haitian Compas Festival brought tens of thousands of people to Mana Wynwood on Saturday, May 18, 2019. The red and blue from Haitian flags could be seen throughout Wynwood and the sounds of Compas music could be heard for blocks. Thanks to the efforts of our sponsors, the artists, staff and media, the public came in full force to commemorate Haitian Flag Day.

Miami Music Project To Received $30,000 From The National Endownment For The Arts

MIAMI, FL — National Endowment for the Arts Acting Chairman Mary Anne Carter has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the Arts Endowment’s second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2019! Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $30,000 to Miami Music Project to support staff salaries and teaching artist fees for the Children's Orchestras, a free after-school instrumental music program for students in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Art Works is the Arts Endowment’s principal grantmaking program. The agency received 1,592 Art Works applications for this round of grantmaking, and will award 977 grants in this category.

The Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami (CCBM), Artistic Director, Eriberto Jimenez, is   presenting its annual Grand Gala Performance Giselle Act II, the most lyrical and breathtaking jewel of the famous 19th Century Romantic Ballets, featuring Cuban Prima Ballerina Lorena Feijoo next to Principal Dancers Arionel Vargas and Marize Fumero, three generations of Cuban dancers, beautiful costumes & scenery and full corps de ballet, in collaboration with Miami Arts Charter School under Valerie Barreiro and Diana Ford. Saturday, June 8 / 8:00 pm. at the Miami Dade County Auditorium.

Pérez Art Museum Miami Announces Lineup for Immersive Cultural Experience CURRENTS, Featuring Bands TOPS and Men I Trust

Miami, FL — Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is pleased to announce the lineup for CURRENTS, the museum’s first-ever quarterly audio-visual immersive cultural experience in celebration of its 35th anniversary. Presented by Miami creative agency DEFY, the series kicked off onMarch 21 with Latinx psychedelic band Inner Wave, and will feature indie rock band TOPS on June 20, electro-pop band Men I Trust on September 19, and another act to be announced for November 21.

World-Ranked Poet to Host Free Lunch-time Monthly Event at Pompano Beach Cultural Center

These monthly lunchtime gatherings are hosted by Sharonda “Eccentrich” Richardson, the #14 ranked female poet in the world! A large and enthusiastic crowd turned out at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre on Saturday, April 27, for the semi-finals of the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s Festival Song Competition 2019.
