Barbados Opposition Leader Intends to Contest General Election

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Outgoing Opposition Leader, Bishop Joseph Atherley, says he intends to contest the January 19 general election next year even though he is not yet clear as to whether he would be a candidate for the St Michael West, where he served as legislator for over a decade.

Antigua Considering Amnesty for Illegal Migrants

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – Prime Minister Gaston Browne says his administration is considering granting an amnesty to illegal migrants as he urged all people on the island to work together to help Antigua and Barbuda rebound economically and socially from the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-29) pandemic that has killed 117 people and infected 4.162 others since March last year.

Opposition Party in Guyana Elects New Leader

GEORGETOWN, Guyana – The People’s National Congress Reform’s (PNCR), the main party within the coalition A Partnership for National Unity (APNU), Sunday elected Aubrey Norton as its new leader to replace former president David Granger, who did not seek re-election.
